This year, I began interviewing business owners and people creating cool things. I began this process because I wasn’t sure how to get back into the workforce and wanted to find a new way to grow my network and eventually make money. Instead of waiting for the “right” opportunity, I decided to lean into a few things I already knew I was good at: connection and video editing.

While I’m currently based in Southern California, I’ve started to expand my network to other parts of the country as well. The journey has quickly turned into a portfolio of people that I’ve had the pleasure of sitting down and conversing with. My wish is that, over time, their networks will grow too. Through this process, I’ve been able to interview people in the wellness/health, fashion, makeup, website design, fitness, and real estate spaces. The process has been seamless because networking isn’t a challenge for me. The challenging part has been convincing myself to keep sticking with it. I love it, but I can be my worst critic.

Some things I’ve recognized since beginning my interview series:

° We all have imposter syndrome to a degree and are figuring it out as we go.
° Connecting with new people can feel daunting, but laughter is still the best medicine.
° People crave feeling seen, and there’s so much joy in being a part of that.
° I’m not sure where this journey will take me, but I’m enjoying the ride so far.

A few goals I have moving forward:

° Continue growing my podcast interview series and meet more cool people.
° Take things day by day and learn through the process.
° Allow the “flow” to happen and remain open to possibility.
° Stick with the process for at least a year, even when I want to give up.
