Mia Kelley has a real estate license in two states, a decade in the business, and a job title she created for herself: Wellness Wealth Specialist.
Ten years into selling homes across California and Colorado, Mia has quietly rebuilt what it means to buy a home. She’s taking her skills in yoga and sound healing directly into the buying and selling process, rather than treating them as separate parts of her life.
Why “Wellness” and “Investment” belong together
Mia believes that buying a house is one of the biggest financial moves most people ever make. Financial moves go better when the person making them is regulated, clear-headed, and not operating from a place of stress.
“I think combining the real estate and wellness pieces will create a better experience,” she says.
“If clients don’t feel like it’s so transactional and rigid, they’re going to get somebody who’s in it for the long haul with them.”
Many people don’t buy just one house in their lifetime. They buy a first house, then move up, then maybe downsize, then help their kids buy theirs. A good agent isn’t a one-time vendor. They’re a relationship that spans decades. Mia believes that the more she can offer beyond the transaction, with sound healing and yoga, the more clients get out of working with her.
“The more that the agent can offer you as far as your well-being goes, the more you’re getting out of that person,” she says.
“It’s very advantageous for the client to have a partner on their team that not only can help them with real estate, but can help them as they age.”
Why this path with real estate?
Mia got into sound healing in 2021, during a hard stretch in her business. She initially did this to heal herself, but it began evolving beyond that.
“Being a full-time entrepreneur in real estate can be really, really brutal,” she says.
“I always come back to my practices, yoga and sound healing, because they keep me regulated and fill my cup so I can give to people and be available.”
It shows up in how she talks about her clients, too. Real estate is a stressful industry from every angle. Agents are stressed, buyers are stressed, sellers are stressed. Mia sees her job as absorbing some of that.
“When somebody comes to me with their goals, and I’m able to make a plan for them and work the plan, it takes all the stress off of them. They have calm and clarity because they have the confidence that I’m going to handle whatever it is we’re working on.”
How she’s changing her open houses
I was lucky enough to attend one of these sound healing open houses in March 2026. Here is a little bit of what I experienced.
“It’ll be an open house like normal from 2 to 6. We’re going to have refreshments,” she explains.
“Then at 4:00, we’ll start some breathwork with another practitioner, and a sound bath, a 40-minute healing session.”
Afterwards, there was time to socialize, learn about the practices, and even participate in a giveaway.
The open house is still doing its job as a marketing event, but it’s also introducing an entire neighborhood to a healing practice many of them might never have tried otherwise.
“A lot of times wellness stuff can feel out of reach for people,” Mia says.
“I love to make this accessible for all people… It’s giving me an opportunity to show the community something new. And I get to help people. So it’s a win-win.”
Changing the story people tell themselves about buying a home
Mia emphasized the importance of mindset as a barrier to homeownership.
“There’s this doom-and-gloom narrative constantly that makes people think, what’s the point of buying a house? Or I could never afford to buy a house. Roughly 90% of buyers get some form of assistance, whether that’s down-payment help or other programs most people don’t know exist.”
She finds that a lot of people count themselves out before they’ve actually checked if they can buy a house.
“You just have to switch the story around and say, I’d rather become a landlord than pay for somebody else’s landlord,” she says. “Even if you can’t buy your dream home, it doesn’t mean you’re priced out of the market.”
In conclusion
Mia has built a single, coherent philosophy: health is real wealth, an empowered mind makes better decisions. She continues to practice sound healing while incorporating it into the home buying process.
“I think helping people enhance their mindset will help them buy a home,” Mia says simply.
